What we collect, why we collect it and how it is protected.

1. Data we collect

Account details (name, email, phone, city), profile information you choose to publish, identity verification data (government ID reference and liveness selfie frames), booking and payment records, in-app messages, reviews, reports and basic device/usage logs.

2. Why we use it

To verify identity, run the marketplace, process payments, keep meetings safe, moderate chat for contact-sharing and abuse, resolve disputes and reports, send transactional emails about your account and bookings, and meet legal obligations.

3. What other users see

Customers see a companion's published profile, ratings and reviews. Companions see the booking details a customer sends. Verification documents, liveness frames, phone numbers, emails and emergency contacts are never shown to other users.

4. Verification documents and liveness frames

ID documents and liveness frames are stored in private storage and can only be opened by authorised Kompanio reviewers through short-lived, access-controlled links. They are used solely to confirm identity.

5. Payments

Card, UPI and netbanking details are entered on our payment partner's secure hosted checkout. Kompanio never receives or stores your card details — only the transaction reference, amount and status.

6. Sharing

We share data only with the service providers needed to operate Kompanio (payment gateway, email delivery, cloud hosting) and with authorities where legally required or where there is a serious safety risk. We do not sell your data.

7. Retention

We keep account, booking and payment records for as long as your account exists and for as long as required for legal, tax and safety purposes. Verification data is retained while your account is active.

8. Your choices

You can edit your profile at any time, request a copy of your data, or ask us to delete your account by writing to support@kompanio.in. Some records must be retained where law requires it.

9. Security

Access to data is protected by authentication and row-level database rules so users can reach only their own records, and private files require signed, time-limited access.
